I love it, and I feel like our journey to it has been long, sometimes difficult, but it is what we feel reflects the Biblical pattern of worship the best. Because my husband is the associate pastor and I am very involved in music, we have been influential in tweaking a liturgy that was already established when we arrived. I have been in every different style on the spectrum, and here is where I am at home.Sarah G.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16417006638905350977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5273706212232036223.post-53177561029717508582009-10-26T14:22:14.991-04:002009-10-26T14:22:14.991-04:00Contemporary but we do a lot of liturgical things ...Contemporary but we do a lot of liturgical things also ... everything with a purpose.Teri Lynne Underwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10369869269013586166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5273706212232036223.post-37141023385730339182009-10-25T14:58:55.794-04:002009-10-25T14:58:55.794-04:00comtemporary with a tad bit of liturgycomtemporary with a tad bit of liturgyMelodyhttp://lifeisabowlofwedgies.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5273706212232036223.post-69488515609374640182009-10-23T15:09:40.281-04:002009-10-23T15:09:40.281-04:00My Church is Contemporary by your list of descript...My Church is Contemporary by your list of descriptions and I LOVE it!Kristinhttp://www.jakeandkristinadopt.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5273706212232036223.post-17678582702346314912009-10-23T13:46:36.759-04:002009-10-23T13:46:36.759-04:00Excuse me, I meant to say my home church is more t...Excuse me, I meant to say my home church is more traditional than I. My only excuse for the typo is that it's late on this side of the world. :)Carriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07573297388510175283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5273706212232036223.post-2702496148333249142009-10-23T13:45:12.773-04:002009-10-23T13:45:12.773-04:00My home church is more contemporary (think stuffy-...My home church is more contemporary (think stuffy---I should have said that in a confession thread. LOL!) than I am. I prefer a worship where the Holy Spirit leads and things aren't done by the bulletin. As in, if I feel the need to pray at the altar, I can just go at any time. Things like that.

As far as our churches over here, they are not traditional or modern. They are Turkish Gypsy, which puts them in a class all by themselves. LOL! I love it!

The women generally sit on the floor while the men sit in chairs. They sing for an hour or more and then pray for quite a while. During prayer, they hold their hands out to heaven and all pray aloud.

After a time of prayer, testimonies are given. Then a sermon is preached, another prayer is prayed, more songs are sung, and everyone hugs and wishes peace to one another.

Sometimes these services go on all night long. They have no where to go, so when Jesus is in the midst, they are in no hurry to leave.

It is unlike anything I have ever seen before and I love it! I fit right in!Carriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07573297388510175283noreply@blogger.com
